Share Your Story: Unemployed for Family Reasons

We are gathering stories of women who live in the target states who have been denied unemployment insurance because they work part-time or because they left their job due to compelling family reasons (domestic violence or sexual abuse, to care for a sick family member, or to relocate with a spouse who has found a job in another area).Did you have to leave your last job because of domestic violence, sexual assault, to care for a sick family member, or because you relocated with a spouse who found a job in another area? If you were denied unemployment insurance because you left your job for one of these reasons, please share your story. Some states have already reformed their laws to allow workers who leave their jobs for these compelling reasons to qualify for unemployment insurance benefits. Your story will help make the case for reforming the law in your state.
