When an estimated 26,000 military members were sexually assaulted and victims of unwanted sexual contact last year — though only approximately 3,000 cases were reported — you know that the system is broken. But instead of fixing the problem, Senators on the Armed Services Committee stripped out a provision of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that is critical to addressing this problem.
