LOWER YOUR TAXES OR INCREASE YOUR REFUND:

THE NATIONAL WOMEN’S LAW CENTER

TAX CREDITS OUTREACH CAMPAIGN

 2005 TAX FILING SEASON

Did you know that you might be eligible for tax benefits to help pay for your child care and other expenses and reduce the income taxes you pay or increase your tax refund?  The National Women’s Law Center will have available a variety of federal and state-specific materials to inform you about some of the federal and state tax benefits for which you may be eligible, and to assist advocates in educating others about the value of these benefits.

The Center is collaborating with advocacy organizations in eight states (California, IowaLouisiana, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, and Oregon) to conduct a Tax Credits Outreach Campaign.  The Center also prepared materials for a variety of other states, and materials for additional states will be added throughout January 2005.  Click here for state-specific tax materials. The Campaign is designed to inform families about the tax benefits they are entitled to claim, with a special emphasis on reaching families through child care services networks.  The Center can prepare state-specific materials for some additional states.  For more information on state-specific materials or to join the Tax Credits Outreach Campaign, contact Amy Matsui at (202) 588-5180 or amatsui@nwlc.org.

The 2005 tax filing season begins in January 2005. Check out the materials below to start preparing now for a Tax Credits Outreach Campaign in your community!
