NWLC Endorses New Bill to Prevent Unintended Pregnancies, Support Pregnant Women and New Families

(Washington, DC)  Representatives Tim Ryan (D-OH) and Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) today released the “Preventing Unintended Pregnancies, Reducing the Need for Abortion and Supporting Parents Act,” which aims to reduce the need for abortion by preventing unintended pregnancies and supporting pregnant women and new families, including adoption.

The following is a statement by Marcia D. Greenberger, Co-President of the National Women’s Law Center (NWLC):

“The National Women’s Law Center supports this legislation, which takes important steps to reduce unintended pregnancies through common sense measures like improved access to contraceptives and is a start toward providing those who want to have children the support they need to have and raise a family.

"The National Women's Law Center is also committed to assuring that women's full range of reproductive health needs are met, including access to abortion that is safe, legal and affordable.”
