Your Support Makes It Possible
Individual donors help the National Women's Law Center turn possibilities into realities.
For over 30 years, donors -- many who've been with us from the start -- have supported our efforts to write new laws and get them enacted. They've helped us go to court and win landmark rulings. They've supported our public education efforts to make sure people know their rights and have a real chance to make the law work for them. New victories are possible, and you can make the difference.
You can make a tax-deductible contribution to the Center right now by credit card or by downloading a contribution form that can be mailed in with your check. We use a secure server to process this transaction so your credit card number and other personal information will be encrypted and remain confidential.
There are many ways you can support the Center's work:
General support gifts: The Center encourages unrestricted gifts. These funds provide the Center with the maximum flexibility to launch new initiatives or respond to rapidly changing circumstances. All gifts can be in the form of cash, checks, stocks, or through this web site by credit card. Every contribution to the Center makes a difference. We hope you'll consider an annual general support gift at one of the following special levels:
Friends of the Center: $250. Friends of the Center will receive regular communications on the Center's work, including newsletters and updates, along with invitations to the Center's annual dinner and other special events. Friends will also be listed in the Center's annual report.
Champion of the Center: $1,000. Champions of the Center will receive all of the above, plus an invitation to the Center's annual VIP breakfast in Washington, and to other exclusive events throughout the year. Champions will be listed prominently in the Center's annual report.
Supporter of the Center: From $10 to $1 million, we'll put your gift to work immediately to expand the possibilities for women and their families across the nation.
Designated gifts: Donors can specify the program area they wish to support: Economic Security, Education, Employment, or Health. Donors may also designate their gift for the Center's reserve funds, including the MARGARET Fund, or for the Chesterfield Smith Internship Fund. To designate your gift, simply send a letter along with your check indicating your designation.
Matching gifts: If your company has a matching gift program, please send us the appropriate form along with your gift. Your gift will be doubly appreciated.
Planned gifts: Donors can ensure that the issues they care about today continue to receive their financial support in the future by making a planned gift. Planned giving provides donors with a practical, financially attractive way to support the Center's work while offering several added benefits beyond the standard income tax deduction for a charitable gift. Donors may realize additional tax savings in the areas of estate taxes, capital gains and gift taxes. The following are some examples of planned gifts:
Outright Bequest by Will
Immediate Gift Annuity
Charitable Remainder Trust
Life Insurance Gift
