Education and Title IX

The National Women's Law Center is a leader in the struggle to ensure that women and girls have equal educational opportunities. From the time Congress enacted Title IX - the 1972 federal law prohibiting sex discrimination in education - the Center has pushed for vigorous enforcement of the law through public education, advocacy, and key lawsuits challenging discrimination.
