Wong: More than laws are needed to make equal pay a reality

Statesman Journal A report by the National Women’s Law Center, based on data from the Current Population Survey of the U.S. Census Bureau, pegs the national gap at 23 cents for every dollar earned in 2011. In Oregon, it’s 22 cents, putting it 24th. The smallest gaps were in Washington, D.C., at 10 cents and Vermont at 13 cents; Wyoming ranked last with a gap of 33 cents.
