House Bill Would Decimate Head Start, Says NWLC

(Washington, D.C.) The National Women's Law Center said that the bill the House will vote on today would devastate Head Start, the successful 38-year-old program that has served millions of at-risk children. The House Republican leadership's last minute rewrite of the bill does not keep Head Start alive, maintain quality standards, or provide the money to serve more eligible children or bolster quality in Head Start programs.
