This afternoon, both the House and Senate will be taking up the DREAM Act, which would set up a path to citizenship for immigrant youth and young adults who entered this country before age 16, have been here for at least five consecutive years, and have graduated from high school. Congress should pass this bill and seize the opportunity to directly address the dropout crisis by providing powerful incentives for undocumented young men and women to invest in their education and their future.
The House will take up the DREAM Act by 3:30 p.m. EST. The Senate session begins at 3:30 p.m. EST with a vote scheduled for later in the afternoon or evening. Tune into CSPAN to watch coverage.
