First Confirmations in Wake of Judges Deal: Inching Forward
As you may be aware, despite over 80 judicial vacancies (35 of which were judicial emergencies), at the beginning of this week the Senate had only confirmed 7 judges in 2012. Yesterday, the landscape changed somewhat. Precipitated by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s filing cloture petitions on 17 district court nominees, Senate leadership agreed to confirm a dozen district court nominees and two circuit court nominees by May 7. The first of those confirmations occurred today, with votes on Gina Groh, nominated to a seat on the Northern District of West Virginia, and Michael Fitzgerald, nominated to a seat on the Central District of California. Judge Groh was confirmed 95-2; Judge Fitzgerald was confirmed 91-6.
These two well-qualified nominees were unanimously approved by the Senate Judiciary Committee last year – Judge Groh in October and Judge Fitzgerald in November. In addition, both of them bring diversity to the federal bench (Judge Fitzgerald is the first openly gay nominee to be confirmed outside New York). It is shocking that Senator Reid had to take the dramatic step of forcing filibuster votes on district court nominees in order for the Senate to finally vote on these two nominees. Now that the Senate has voted on two pending nominees, it only has twenty to go.

Planned Parenthood
Planned Parenthood, by Angela Khristin Brown
There are three stages in life. The first stage is adolescence. The second stage is puberty. The third stage is achieving maturation. Throughout life everyone must experience a period of spiritual growth from being a child to becoming an adult.
During the primary stage of adolescence, a child will experiment adapting to change. For instance; a child will role play playing house imitating their parents from observation. A child may pretend to cook like her mom. A child may pretend to drive a car like their father. A child may relic their parents’ behavior by punishing a pet like they were punished. A child will respond during this age from what they see others do by becoming the people close to them.
During the second stage of puberty a child body begins to change. A teenager may grow hair, the breast, begin to form, they are getting taller and they want to express themselves. At this stage a child period starts. A child feeling about life changes in that they want to try drugs, sex and alcohol. They begin to like the opposite sex. They want to date and yearn to be loved through having a companion with the opposite sex. Puberty is the dark mating season of adolescence.
The third stage of maturation is to become a responsible adult. As an adult, they make radical choices of maturation. At this stage it becomes most crucial to have Planned Parenthood. Most young couples want to get married and have children. As adults they make plans for what they want out of life. They decide to go to college, get a job and to get married in the church.
Throughout these stages in life, there is a period of spiritual growth. A child is developing reason by reacting through their response observing their parents behavior. During puberty, a teenager is expressing emotion through observation from their peers and the media. During adult life, an adult is making life goal decisions from what they learned in college, the media and from church. Each stage they are following onset learned behavior.
Some people may experience this learned behavior at later stages and some will experience this learned behavior early on. Some people may not experience full maturation at all. People develop in life differently, because we are not all alike. It is important to become aware of a child and help guide them to the right direction so there is a level of understanding to making the right choices.
