Paycheck Fairness Act: The Fight Continues
I’ll be blunt—this hurts.
Today the Senate took its first vote on the Paycheck Fairness Act, but the bill did not receive enough votes to proceed with debate on the merits of the bill. The fact that some Senators would not even allow an up or down vote on the merits of this important bill is hard to swallow.
I don’t know about you—but this makes me more determined to get the Paycheck Fairness Act passed.
Although we lost the battle today, our fight continues. Women will not accept that we continue to make, on average, 23 percent less than our male counterparts. Stand up with me today and say you’ll help us continue to work to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act.
We wouldn’t have gotten this far without your support. Thank you for all you do to advance the rights of women and girls.

sad
I'm disappointed today too. Unfair pay is alive and well. This vote today is like saying slavery is okay because unemployment is high.
