Times are tough, and people need help. The 2010 midterm elections will determine whether women and families will get the helping hand they need. In the coming months, Congress is poised to make decisions about whether to extend unemployment insurance benefits, whether to repeal new provisions making it illegal for insurance companies to deny coverage for people with preexisting conditions, and whether to invest in families struggling to make ends meet or instead spend massive amounts on tax breaks for the wealthy. Your vote can make a difference in these decisions.
Women are typically more likely than men to vote, and that has made an important difference in many elections, given that women also tend to vote for different candidates than men and favor more progressive policies. But this year, polling suggests that women are less enthusiastic than men about heading to the polls. Unmarried women, in particular, who turned out in record numbers in 2008, report that they are less likely to vote this year. If women don’t show up, we’ll all lose.

Marcia Greenberger to Receive Award
NWLC Co-President Marcia Greenberger has been chosen to receive the 2012 Margaret Brent Women Lawyers of Achievement Award at American Bar Association's annual meeting on Aug. 5 in Chicago. Prop 302 on the Arizona Ballot is a good example
If this bill passes it wll take about 400 million dollars away from preschool children and put it in Brewer's general fund to be spent as she wishes!! We voted for this program years ago and it SHOULD NOT BE TOUCHED BY THIS GOVERNOR!!!!

Women use excuses like "I'm too busy to vote." Women often are influenced by what the males around them are saying and don't vote or vote their way to avoid conflict. Although American's talk trash about other countries human rights abuse toward women, we really aren't that far from that ourselves. My grandmother remembers when she got the vote and what a furor that was for families. She was told not to vote because if she voted it would cancel out her husband's vote unless she voted exactly the same way he did.

They would do anything or say anything just to get you to trust them so that they could then steal your boyfriend, your best girlfriend or your homework, from under you when you weren't looking.
