The National Women's Law Center joined with over 40 women's organizations to support the Fair Minimum Wage Act of 2012 introduced by Representatives George Miller (D-CA). The Act would raise the minimum wage incrementally to $9.80 per hour in 2014, would raise the tipped minimum wage to 70 percent of the minimum wage, and index both to inflation.

You also know that good care is in short supply, and that the need for assistance with paying for child care is increasing all around us.

The National Women's Law Center sent a letter to the chairman and ranking member of the House Ways and Means Committee in opposition to proposals that would create a financial barrier to claiming tax credits to make insurance more affordable under the Affordable Care Act, limit access to the refundable Child Tax Credit, especially for immigrant families, and eliminate the Social Services Block
