The National Women's Law Center sent a letter urging Senators to support Senator Harry Reid's "Middle Class Tax Cut Act" that would end the Bush-era tax cuts for the top two percent of earners, and to reject proposals that would extend tax breaks for high earners while ending important tax credits for low-income families.

Women's Organizations Support Fair Minimum Wage Act of 2012

The National Women's Law Center joined with over 40 women's organizations to support the Fair Minimum Wage Act of 2012 introduced by Representatives George Miller (D-CA). The Act would raise the minimum wage incrementally to $9.80 per hour in 2014, would raise the tipped minimum wage to 70 percent of the minimum wage, and index both to inflation.

The National Women's Law Center sent this letter to Senators urging them to support the Paying a Fair Share Act of 2012.The Paying a Fair Share Act of 2012, introduced by Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), would take a key step toward restoring fairness to the tax code and balance to fiscal policy by requiring that millionaires and billionaires pay at least 30 percent of their income in taxes,
