NATIONAL WOMEN'S LAW CENTER EXPRESSES OUTRAGE OVER TITLE IX COMMISSION'S RECOMMENDATIONS
(Washington, D.C.) President Bush's Commission on Opportunity in Athletics recommended radical and sweeping changes to Title IX athletics policies that stand to reverse three decades of progress for women and girls in athletics. If accepted by the Bush Administration and Secretary of Education Roderick Paige, the proposals would allow women and girls to be treated as second-class citizens on college and high school playing fields across the nation and would drastically alter current law.
