NWLC Looks Forward to Continued House Leadership of Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi
(Washington, D.C.) Last week Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi announced that she will run for re-election as House Democratic Leader for the next Congress. The following is a statement from National Women’s Law Center Co-Presidents Marcia D. Greenberger and Nancy Duff Campbell:
“The Center looks forward to working with Minority Leader Pelosi and the new Congress, with its record number of women members, to continue to expand opportunities for women. Throughout her tenure in the House, Leader Pelosi has led efforts to secure major advances for women and families. She fought to secure passage of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, to protect women’s reproductive health care, and to pass the Affordable Care Act, which ensures that women are no longer a pre-existing condition. Leader Pelosi will be a critical force in the fight in the next Congress to keep the American dream alive for every woman and every family in this country.”
