Helen Blank Award for Rising Child Care Leaders

After more than forty years of groundbreaking advocacy, the Law Center’s longtime Director of Child Care and Early Learning, Helen Blank, retired in March 2019. To honor Helen’s exceptional contributions to the child care field and the tremendous impact her advocacy has had for low-income families nationwide, we have worked with her husband Marty to create the Helen Blank Award for Rising Child Care Leaders, awarded at the Law Center’s annual child care conference beginning January 2020.  This two-day policy conference brings together national, state, and grassroots advocates for peer-to-peer information-sharing, technical assistance, and strategy building around child care and early learning policies and investments.  Your contribution honoring Helen will support not only this conference, but also the Law Center’s efforts to lift up and bolster child care advocates in their efforts across the country, particularly those early in their careers. In myriad ways through her work, Helen has emphasized the importance of supporting rising child care advocates, and we can’t think of a better way to honor her incredible legacy.
