Advocates and Attorneys, You Can Make a Difference!

  • Has someone contacted you because they believe inequities exist at their school?

  • Are you aware of situations in your community where girls are treated worse than boys?

  • If so, you can do something. Here are just a few ideas:

    • Use the resources of this website to check out the school and identify where there are Title IX problems.
    • Talk to the principal or other school officials, such as the athletic director or the guidance counselor.
    • Find out who is the Title IX coordinator at your school.
    • Talk to parents and see if their children have had similar experiences - contact the PTA.
    • Get in touch with organizations, like the sponsors of this site, who can help you.
    • Contact your school board or your state or county representatives.
    • Write a letter to the editor of your local paper.
    • Get a reporter interested in writing a story about the problem.
    • Help students, parents or coaches to file a complaint with the Office For Civil Rights at the U.S. Department of Education to protest the inequities.
