Amicus Brief: AT&T Corporation v. Noreen Hulteen, et. al.

Pregnancy discrimination is one of the most basic and pervasive forms of sex discrimination faced by working women.  In this case, the Center successfully advocated for four female employees who, when they took pregnancy leave, were denied pay and other benefits that were allowed for all other forms of disability leave. These women were subjected to a second round of discrimination when, because of their pregnancy leave, they were awarded lower pension benefits than colleagues who had worked the same amount of time as they had.  These discriminatory pension benefits would have harmed these women for the rest of their lives.
