NWLC Section 1557 Complaint: Sex discrimination complaints against five institutions

The National Women’s Law Center filed sex discrimination complaints against five institutions for excluding pregnancy coverage from the health insurance benefits provided to its employees’ dependent children. The complaint was filed with the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) under Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), the first federal law to broadly prohibit sex discrimination in health care.
