Sign-On Letter to Congress in Support of Maintaining Critical Funding for Child Support
September 27, 2010
The child support program touches the lives of 17.4 million children - or one out of four - and distributes about $24 billion dollars in child support to families annually. But families stand to lose $2 billion in uncollected support in FY 2011 alone if Congress does not act soon to prevent cuts to the program from taking effect. Over 200 national, state, and local groups have signed-on to a letter to Congress in support of restoring critical funds for child support enforcement.
