State by State Fact Sheets: Child Care Assistance Policies 2013
The National Women's Law Center's 10th annual review of key child care subsidy policies in all fifty states and the District of Columbia reveals that in 2013, families were worse off in 24 states than they were in 2012 under one or more child care assistance policies, but were better off in 27 states. This trend between 2012 and 2013 was more positive than in the previous two years, but families remain behind where they were in 2001 in access to child care assistance and the level of assistance they receive.
